Joined Steel City Chapter in winter 2018. I found value in the programs offered at the meetings, enjoyed meeting new people and the opportunity for the sharing of information and knowledge. I became VP of Finance May of 2019 and President just a few months ago.
I began my IT career as a Customer Engineer for Hewlett Packard here in Pittsburgh. Fun fact I was the first female Customer Engineer at HP Pittsburgh (Oh, the fun stories I could share about being a woman fixing computers 'back in the day')! My HP career was always focused on Customer Support via various individual contributor and management roles in Supply Chain (field repair parts logistics), Program Management (US, Americas, supply chain & remote diagnostics), and Field Management (reactive & proactive customer support) locally and regionally.
My HP experience was valuable in securing an IT Director role at Federated Investors where I had responsibility for enterprise infrastructure (primarily server & OS) along with select enterprise applications (email, monitoring, messaging, etc.).
My favorite part of my total career has been the opportunity to collaborate with many people, organizations and functions to accomplish necessary projects, repairs and solve problems. I am currently taking an employment break and practicing retirement...very fun!
I am originally from Columbus Ohio and relocated to Pittsburgh to join HP, after completing my BSEET from DeVry. I was blessed to earn my MSHRM by leveraging HP's education assistance benefits. I graduated with my Masters from La Roche about 1 month before my first child was born; Fun fact she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from La Roche so I like to tell her she attended twice. She is building a successful career in Supply Chain. My second child, a son, is pursuing a career in law enforcement.
Started January of 2020 with Steel City as Co-VP of Membership. I was just starting to really get more into my newly appointed position when the pandemic happened. I have been involved in HDI since 2013 where I was a helpdesk nominee. I throughout the years tried to get more involved and volunteered for different things to help out when needed.
I started working for Giant Eagle the end of 2012 where I was an intern and go hired on very quickly into their IT Help Desk. Throughout the years I have had various IT positions and currently am working as a Business Analyst. I enjoy being a BA as I get to do different projects and the work is not the same day to day.
I have two little girls, Addalyn (age 5) and Kaylyn (age 1), and a 9-pound doggy ball of fluff named Onyx. We all enjoy being outside (when its warmer). All three of my baby’s birthdays are in the same week which happened during the quarantine. A fun fact about myself that usually surprises people is that I have never eaten at Chick-fil-a. In my defense there are none close to me.

I started with HDI Steel City in the summer of 2019. I attended my first meeting in the spring of 2019 and loved the connections I was making with this group. They are absolute rockstars in their fields and as someone new to the tech community I wanted to embrace networking with the right people. I started as the VP of Social Media/Webmaster and now am the VP of Communications.
I started working full-time for Excalibur Data Systems as their marketing manager in January 2019 after I finished my master's degree and my internship. I went to Robert Morris University gaining a Bachelor of Arts in Communication specializing in advertising and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership.
Pittsburgh has always had my heart, originally growing up in Brockway Pennsylvania, but after college, I had to stay. So you can normally find me exploring Pittsburgh, spending time with my cat (Venus) or planning my next travel adventure. oh & let's go Steelers!
I became a member of HDI Steel City in June of 2018 when I became the Operations Manager of the Enterprise Service Desk at Penn State University. In February of 2020 I was elected to the VP of Finance position and have been working to understand this roll in the recent months.
When I was hired to Penn State in 2006, I worked in a training and instructional design capacity within the central IT Training group. Eventually I moved into management within that group and was asked to step into lead the Enterprise Service Desk in mid-2018. I enjoy mentoring and coaching a great deal and find that leadership provides many opportunities to allow me to continue to use these skills.
I live in the Lock Have area (about 3 hours north of Pittsburgh) with my husband. We have 5 children and 2 grandchildren and enjoy spending our free time in the outdoors. We are a military family with my husband, our oldest son, and myself having served prior and our middle son now serving. Between us we have covered all 4 branches of the military.
