Joined Steel City Chapter in winter 2018. I found value in the programs offered at the meetings, enjoyed meeting new people and the opportunity for the sharing of information and knowledge. I became VP of Finance May of 2019 and President just a few months ago.
I began my IT career as a Customer Engineer for Hewlett Packard here in Pittsburgh. Fun fact I was the first female Customer Engineer at HP Pittsburgh (Oh, the fun stories I could share about being a woman fixing computers 'back in the day')! My HP career was always focused on Customer Support via various individual contributor and management roles in Supply Chain (field repair parts logistics), Program Management (US, Americas, supply chain & remote diagnostics), and Field Management (reactive & proactive customer support) locally and regionally.
My HP experience was valuable in securing an IT Director role at Federated Investors where I had responsibility for enterprise infrastructure (primarily server & OS) along with select enterprise applications (email, monitoring, messaging, etc.).
My favorite part of my total career has been the opportunity to collaborate with many people, organizations and functions to accomplish necessary projects, repairs and solve problems. I am currently taking an employment break and practicing retirement...very fun!
I am originally from Columbus Ohio and relocated to Pittsburgh to join HP, after completing my BSEET from DeVry. I was blessed to earn my MSHRM by leveraging HP's education assistance benefits. I graduated with my Masters from La Roche about 1 month before my first child was born; Fun fact she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from La Roche so I like to tell her she attended twice. She is building a successful career in Supply Chain. My second child, a son, is pursuing a career in law enforcement.
